EOIs Close: Callout for Associate Artists

CALLOUT for PACT Associate Artists

Since 2020, PACT has engaged a group of mid-career artists who contribute advice to us on creative and strategic matters. A unique multi-arts leadership model, the group fosters exchange between its members representing different art forms and between our established and emerging artists.

The role is an opportunity to gain leadership skills within an organisational structure with support from PACT’s management and board. You will play a lead in co-designing and delivering PACT’s emerging artist development program, assessing applications to our residency and lab programs, and delivering workshops and mentorship. You can also propose creative projects for PACT’s program that fit our artistic and strategic goals.

Initially called the Artistic Directorate, we are changing the name in 2025 to Associate Artists, to more accurately reflect that the role is an artist one, designed to support mid-career independent artists.

As part of PACT’s 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, we are calling for Expressions of Interest from mid-career artists to form our new cohort of Associate Artists from 2025.

What are we looking for

We are looking for mid-career artists who care about building our sector’s community, have a passion for contemporary practice, and who can address the following criteria:

1. Professional (>10 years) multi-arts experience and networks.

2. An ability to commit to PACT’s program for a minimum of 2 years.

3. Interest and experience in intergenerational exchange.

4. Knowledge of and/or connection to PACT.

Your EOI should include an email to PACT’s CEO at justine@pact.net.au with an attached CV and statement of interest in the opportunity by the deadline of 9am AEST Friday 1 November 2024.

You can download a copy of the Associate Artists Terms of Reference here. We strongly encourage you to speak with the CEO before submitting your EOI.

  • The deadline is 9am AEST Friday 1 November 2024.

  • Up to 4 Associate Artists will be contracted for an initial 2-year term with a possible 2-year extension.

  • The Associate Artists are paid a flat fee of $5,000 pa plus superannuation, with the option to propose creative projects and undertake other work within PACT’s program which will be agreed upon and remunerated separately.

  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview in the week of 18 November.
